Welcome to the Australian Embassy in Budapest
The Australian Embassy in Budapest is accredited to the governments of:
• Hungary
• Romania
Accreditation to Romania is on a non-resident basis.
The site provides information for Australian citizens abroad as well as for people wishing to visit Australia for tourist, business or family reasons.
There are links in the website for readers wishing to learn more about Australia, its society and economy, and its international policies.
I recommend that all Australians travelling and living in Hungary or Romania regularly check the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Travel Advice for both countries. This Advice can be found through the link on our site under 'Services for Australians'. All Australian visitors and residents are also encouraged to register their presence in Hungary, or Romania, with the Embassy. Registration can be accessed through the same link.
Please let us know if you have any suggestions for making the website better. You can contact the Embassy through the 'About us' link.
If you are visiting Hungary, Romania or Australia, I wish you a pleasant stay.
John Griffin
