ENTRY PERMIT FOR PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Each traveller will need to complete one Entry Permit for Papua New Guinea applications. Please attach one current passport size photographs to the form. All sections of the forms are to be completed. If you do not hold a Hungarian passport, you will also need to provide evidence of your residence status in Hungary. Visas will not be issued in passports which do not have at least six months validity remaining from the date of your departure from Papua New Guinea.
Important Notice: The Papua New Guinea Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade advises that as from 23 February 1999, private or official visitors into Bougainville in future must transit through Port Moresby to Bougainville, rather than travelling directly to Bougainville.
Visas are not issued the same day. If you are lodging your application in person at the Embassy, the visa could take a minimum of seven (10) working days before issue. It will be necessary therefore to allow sufficient time before your travel to ensure you receive the visa in time. In other words, visas will not be issued by the Embassy until the appropriate clearance is gained from the PNG authorities.
Lodgement: Applicants may either lodge the fully completed form together with his/her passport in person at the Fourth Floor of the Australian Embassy during the hours shown below. When lodging, applicants will need to make arrangements either to return to the Embassy in person to collect the passport containing the visa, or advise for the passport to be returned by registered mail. The Embassy does not accept any responsibility for the loss of your passport in the mail.
Tourist/Visitor: Validity of six months from the date of issue and permits single entry for a period of 60 days only [specifically for tourism]. [The fee of Kina 10 is to be paid/collected on arrival in PNG.] The visa will be endorsed:
- Fee to be paid/collected on arrival in PNG
- Employment prohibited
- Return or onward ticket is required
Tourists/Visitors must be in possession of:
- a passport with validity of at least six months from date of issue of visa;
- tickets to an onward destination or confirmation of itinerary (eg. airline printout); and
- evidence of adequate funds for duration of stay. Visitors must comply with other requirements upon request by officials.
Business: Validity of 12 months from the date of issue and permits multiple entries with a maximum stay of 60 days on each entry. [The fee of Kina 250 is to be paid/collected on arrival in PNG.] The visa will be endorsed:
- Fee to be paid/collected on arrival in PNG
- Employment prohibited
- Return or onward ticket is required
Important Notice for Business Applications: This type of application will not be accepted for processing unless they are accompanied by a letter from the sending company/organisation which declares that:
- the company on whose behalf the visit will take place
- the company will be responsible for all expenses for the stay of their employee while in PNG
- the employee will not take up employment whilst in PNG and will depart PNG at the conclusion of the business visit
- the purpose for the visit (e.g. business, discussions regarding business or operations, purchase of equipment)
- the name of the contact person and the full name of the company and address of the business to be visited in PNG
- the employee holds a return or onward ticket to/from PNG (itinerary)
